Many people have asked if CoastRegistry can be used to upload data to the Skate Canada database?
Several years ago, when CoastRegistry was started, Skate Canada had a program in place where customers could provide a specially formatted microsoft-access file, and, along with a processing fee, and could submit that file to Skate Canada head office in order to register the members described in that file. Staff at the head office would update the club's Skate Canada records. Then they would charge the Skate Canada fee to the club.
CoastRegistry was going to utilize this procedure in order to allow customer clubs to generate the ms-access file and submit to Skate Canada. It would have been a very simple and accurate procedure, far less prone to error than the existing manual data entry that is required.
However, Skate Canada has eliminated this process (somewhere in 2011-2012), so CoastRegistry can not offer the ability to register skaters with Skate Canada. It will need to be done as a manual process by club volunteers or administrative staff.
This is unfortunate, but it is what it is. We feel that CoastRegistry still has such a wealth of many great features, and at a price that is hard to beat for the value, that clubs will want to use it even if they have to do the Skate Canada step manually.

Submit to Skate Canada Database Automatically – At the 2014 ACGM in Quebec City last May, 2014, Skate Canada IT announced a new connectivity initiative called the “API”. Soon, when your customers enter their information into CoastRegistry, that information will be transported (via the API) directly into the Skate Canada database for your club. You’ll never have to enter data twice again! This capability of being offered to all online registration system vendors, we’re excited to be able to utilize this new Skate Canada capability this Fall 2014. We will have a tool to allow you to do SC Database updates on your members who have registered using CoastRegistry.
